'Breathless' The film my concept came from. The main characters are in stages of thier lives not knowing what path to take.

Sally Mann landscape photograghy. The finish on her images have a way of making you look further into the image. The idea stemming from the film 'Breathless' and not really knowing where your going in life. Being on a journey. Not knowing where the road in front of you will take you.

Diane Arbus Photograghy. Taking images of characters that interest her for many reasons. Many unknown.

Little Edie - Grey Gardens

Throughtout my research I referred back to Grey Gardens. The story of mother and daughter living in a decrepit mansion in the wealthy East Hamptons. Choosing how to live their own lives and not how the surrounding community expects them to. The idea of eccentricity stemmed for this as well as the colour palette.

I looked into Sally Mann photograghy and the ideas behind her work. Taking images of her children innocently but protraying them in a way to evoke an emotion or reaction. In my designs I played with the idea of innocence and vulnerability, showing bare flesh under chiffon for instance.

Print ideas from the 70's. Inspired by Grey Gardens. In my collections I have taken aspects of the print and changed the colours to fit my colour palette.
